Cour is a coworking office space that allows businesses cost savings, by a shared office scene where collective members can work and intermingle. Designed to address some of the work balance issues small business owners face living and working in the same physical space, it also gives single-person business operators the option to have co-workers. This allows them to feel more connected to other like-minded people. Filled with natural light and alive with the energy of freelancers, independent workers and small groups focused on making the world a better place. Cour has full time workspace and reception services to those who need a desk a few hours each week or month.
People who share equipment, ideas, and knowledge, but are self-employed or working for different employers are called coworkers. Our goal is to design a space that allows these users to adapt easily and efficiently using strategic uses of wayfinding, lighting, spaces, and colours. The space of 6506 sq. ft. will include a reception, working areas, a space for photo copiers and printers, meeting rooms, staff area, lounging and events, as well as washrooms.
Covid-19 has brought a new awareness to design. Incorporating easy to clean materials and touchless technology will ensure the cleanliness of the space and users. Covid-19 has impacted open offices, to accommodate this, We’ve adapted working spaces that allow for isolation, as well as collaboration. There will be limitations to closed rooms, and protocols after lunches and events.
The design theme will be modern, and eclectic making sure there are different visuals to see while working. Adding walls and half walls as well as the strategic placement of furniture and walkways will encourage social distancing. Biophilia is important in office spaces as it brings up mood, improving productivity, and purity the air. Height adjustable desks and chairs encourage daily activity flow.
